day 5: visit Pelkhor Choede – via Shalu to Shigatse – drive to Sakya (option to stop at Shalu)
day 6: drive to Saga
day 7: drive to Darchen
day 8: Kailash Kora to DiraPhuk (longish hiking day – simple accommodation)
day 9: Kailash Kora – cross the Drolma-la (5636m) to Zhutrul Phuk (long hiking day – simple accommodation)
day 10: complete Kailash kora (short hike) – drive to Chiu Gompa (Lake Manasarovar) – simple accommodation
day 11: drive back to Saga
day 12: via PaikuTso (views of Shishapangma) to Rombuk
day 13: to Shigatse
day 14: Visit Tashilumpo – return to Lhasa
day 15: Transfer to airport for departure

Traverse the vast expanse of the Changtang – the high Tibetan plateau, one of the most remote and untraveled regions on earth. Travel from Lhasa via the scenically stunning northern road to Ali in far western Tibet, before turning south into the utterly different landscapes surrounding the ancient Kingdom of Guge, then back east via Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar, before turning south across grasslands via Mt Shishapangma to Everest.
There are a couple of options including the “long” & “short” north roads are are an unbeatable experience if you have both the time and budget (private car & guide for 20+ days is not cheap).

If your focus is purely Kailash & Manasarovar this is a short option.
You will need to have spent at least 3 nights in Nepal at over 3000m acclimatising to altitude if you want this trip to go smoothly!
Currently only feasible for those who are visa free for China.
