day 1: Arrive Lhasa airport or station & transfer to your hotel
day 2: Lhasa sightseeing – visit Drepung, Nechung Oracle Temple & Sera for afternoon debating.
day 3: Lhasa sightseeing – visit the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple & Barkhor pilgrim circuit (option to visit a nunnery, traditional medical academy, art workshop)
day 4: Transfer to the airport for departure

Tibet Tours - Yumbulakang in the Yarlung valley

Lhasa – Yumbulakhang – Tradruk – Samye
As well as exploring the major sights of Lhasa, travel east  to Samye, Tibet’s first monastery, and one of its’ most beautiful, set on the banks of the Yarlung Tsangpo (Brahmaputra) River.  Also visit the great geomantic temple of Tradruk, founded by King Songsten Gampo and pinning the left shoulder of the supine ogress that is the Tibetan landscape and Yumbulakhang, palace of the first Tibetan kings.

day 5: Join monks for morning prayers at Samye Gompa. Transfer to the airport for afternoon departure

A short introduction to the Tibetan world, exploring the major sights of Lhasa and a taste of the vast Tibetan landscape –

Beautiful Lake Namtso is China’s second largest salt water lake and, at 4700m, one of its highest. Nomad camps often dot the surrounding grasslands and the lake is popular with migrating birds. A stunning backdrop of snow capped mountains completes the picture. Reting, surrounded by Juniper tress, is one of Tibet’s most historically important monasteries. The scenery this way is beautiful as the road leads through valleys with traditional faming villages back to Lhasa.
